Troy Wason shares his transformational journey from self-professed introvert to natural-born extrovert or ‘schmoozer’ and discusses how information professionals can learn to open doors to opportunities -personally and professionally - with the gentle, but somewhat lost art of schmoozing. Or, as someone online positively referred to it: “making social connections with friendly non-aggressive chit chat.” In his long-time role as a Canadian politico, Troy has witnessed both the positive and negative side of schmoozing, but he firmly believes it is a superpower that can be used primarily for the professional and personal good. His personal insights into the often conflicting duality of face-to-face relationship building will exemplify how natural conversation can be life changing for not only ourselves but for the people we have just met in our business and personal lives.
